Match-Ups Matter Index

How do I use these?

The simple way is to look at the match-ups for each player and anticipate them to score that many points above or below their average. For example, a quarterback averaging 20 points per game with a +2 match-up should score above their average.

These are most effective when making decisions between two players that are really close, for example flex plays or WR2s. These should not be used to bench the best WR in the league for a waiver wire pick-up!

These numbers are different than what you'll find elsewhere because they rank defenses, but also take into account the strength of schedule those defenses have faced at each position throughout the year instead of just the raw scores they've allowed. This way a team that plays the 3 best quarterbacks in the league isn't unfairly penalized as an example. Enjoy!
